The pistons for the 1.8 TFSI and TSI engines were modified in the series. The new pistons are equipped with optimized, three-piece oil control rings and a DLC pin. Because the piston pin diameter was also changed from 21 mm to 23 mm during the modification, the connecting rod must also be replaced with replacing the pistons.Motorservice is now offering suitable pistons and connecting rods for the aftermarket. The connecting rods are offered as a motor kit (4 piece), as their weights are precisely coordinated.

Attention:

To prevent imbalances due to different weights of the components, Motorservice recommends always replacing the pistons and connecting rods of an engine completely.
